Thread: excuse my ignorance series III

Top red arrow should reset the trip meter. (twist it)
Bottom red arrow ....... sorry, I don't know.

Red knobbed lever engages HIGH/LOW ranges,

Yellow knobbed lever engages 4WD when in HIGH range only (push yellow knob down towards floor- to disengage 4WD, stop the vehicle, shift into LOW range, then back up into HIGH)

LOW range forces 4WD by default without need for the yellow lever.

Ha Ha... I just went through the coloured knob confusion after buying my first series vehicle.

In short:

Yellow Knob - Push down to Select 4wd
Red Knob - High Range <--> Low Range (Pull back for Low)

Ok now the confusing bit. (Til you get used to it) When you select Low the Yellow Knob pops up again but don't worry your still in 4wd. (It's very British!)

Make sure your free wheeling hubs (if fitted) are selected.

It is all a bit confusing isn't it. Being an ex militry truck i was worried it may have been the button for the ejector seat

Bottom red arrow is where the low fuel light should be on diesel models but in this case a switch for the washer system.

Ahhh the ejector seat - You mean you haven't found that switch either? Please keep you seatbelt on at all times - it may still be armed!

Thanks lro11. I suppose it's not to much of a drama that the washers system isn't workng since the wipers don't seem to want to go either.
