    Front dif in rear

    Ok all,

about 5000km back my rear diff centre died (RIP)

    98 300 TDI 24 spline.

replaced the rear with a front centre, because I had done the uni upgrade.
Now that diff centre is dead.

Did I do some thing wrong, with having a front in the rear????????????

Never putting another STD item in the Disco.

    It's out now.

    Same problem as last time.
pin between the sun and planet gears broke.

Had a look at the old rear diff center, they are both the same.

And 99% of standard rover diffs all die of that death
Either go a locker or a 6 pinion mcnamarra carrier
And then all you have to worry about is the weak rover crownwheel and pinion

    There goes my Xmas,

Just got a 2nd hand ARB diff lock and Maxi Alxes from AMV.
    And Stearing gaurd.

And to top it off, time to do the timing belt.

So almost 2000 spent to day,

The hand brake is not happy.
