    Be fair

.... Wrap a string around the out side of the tyre ... What is the length of the measured string??

Is the final revs in 5th (overdrive) gear??

4Lo.com :: Final Gear Ratio, Crawl Ratio, Tire Size Calculators

For what you've given, it'll be 1.003:1 case

EDIT: 5th gear ratio found here

    Metric Gear Ratio Calculator

a Very tall one. Even a Disco one should pull around 2100 in 5th.

The speedo thing came up on an LROCS trip over the weekend

DiscoDave will pipe in I'm sure if he sees this.

Anyway, we were sitting on 90 on the GPS, in his county he thought we were flying along at 120!

the speedo reads about 83kph when the truck is doing 100kph

yep 1.003 definitely fits the bill.

thanks for the 4lo.com and grimjeeper links, much appreciate the help!

now what colur speedo cog gets me the closest reading to correct ?

That is strange, sure it isn't the other way around? Speedo on 100, car doing 83? That's what mine was like with 32's.
