I dont know if you need the strongest drivetrain... just something that will handle what you're doing. You'll also need to be checking the gearbox lengths to make sure it'll will all package properly. I'm not convinced a LT95 similar will fit properly.

Shall we just use the other thread? Save cluttering up the forum.

although im quite young i know a fair bit about cars. more a holden man. but am loving this site so far =)
why not search for nissan rb motor? these can make really good power and im sure you could buy a bell housing to bolt up to a hilux 'box?
then get a 9 inch and a hilux diffs. shorten them. this could be an unbreakable combo!!

    Just in case your interested.
    I have a coil sprung v8 series 3 stage 1.
It is a landrover body on a rangerover chassis so I get the discs and power steering as well.
It is a 100 inch wheelbase. Others think I should cut it down to a 90.
    Its another option.

Mick has stated he has one, others have done it as well. Have you thought about making a 100inch s111? use the range rover chassis, cut off outriggers for body and swap in the series. measure twice cut once. this could allow you to finetune a few things like you could have the front axle 1 inch or so forward of stock, have the rear alxe right back of the body.......having this set up amongst other things would make it handle better on road and off.

if your trying t convert a s111 chassis to coil the links will be relativly easy, but the panhard and steering stuff may be a bit tricky.

just a thought from a hack

Just use a prefab panhard mount and an outboard steering box like a LC60 or similar and connect this to the steering with a Defender column but you'll need to have machined a jack shaft between the steering box and the column.

For the sake of ease, you can probably also use something Disco2 radius arms front and rear and run a panhard on the rear instead of an A-frame or watts linkage.
