    Ok I've done a bit of research, and it turns out that the 3 standard EDC injectors differ from the standard injectors by having a secondary opening pressure of 300 atm vs the usual ones which have a secondary opening pressure of 280 atm. Otherwise it seems they are homogenous.

    Interesting.

    Could this be how they gained the other eight kilowatts?

    I'm guessing the higher pressures would give slightly better atomisation, but I really think the extra power would come from better control of the fuel at the pump.

    FWIW, the local diesel service double the break pressure of Nissan TD42T injectors. (have no idea what is specced)

    Two reasons claimed, better atomisation, less chance of injector dribble at shutoff.

    Do you have a Bosch pt. # Joel ? It'd be interesting to see the price difference.

    Just looked at Paddocks site;

    ERR3339 ¤37.50

    ERR3348 ¤86.00

    Nearly 50 quid for an extra 290 psi break pressure

    Whoa. That's a fair difference.

    It appears the EDC IP is a different model pump altogether than the standard one. The lift is 0,45 mm instead of 1,54 mm.

    I'm wondering if my local diesel could build an uber 300tdi injector - are the TD42T operate once or twice?

    Its amazing what pops up in Google searches, but am in the process of doing some research re edc 300tdi's

    The ERR3337 is the sensor injector - the motor only requires 1 of these - but these seem to be no longer available/obsolete worldwide - does anyone have a solution to this? Mine is still working at this stage but if they aren't, it might be time to part it out not spending any money/time on it and concentrate on Defender.

    Alternatively is there any reason why an EDC motor can't be returned to a standard 300tdi, obviously there would be a bit of power lost due to being an auto which is what the edc was designed to overcome.

    Found thread with details on how link is below for anyone needing it.
