    Question Which diff is it

    Hi all and welcome to 2009

    my 4X4 is 1990 RR vogue and as i am new to RR any help is appreciated.

    2 questions:

    1st Q front and rear bushes on control/trail arms need replacing what is the best type to use and were would i get them and the pest prices.

    2nd Q what type of diff/diff housing do i have eg Salibury or another.

    amendment

    Q 2 the axels have been changed to 24 spline by previous owner but i think they are still the original housing i need to know as i want to get some 4:11 crown and pinions so need to know what diff it is and how do u tell from looking under the 4X4. (have misplaced previous owners info)

    Its still a Rover diff then, just 24 spline.

    If you look at the front diff, if the pumpkin in the centre looks basically the same then its a Rover diff.

    A Salisbury has a massive pumpkin in comparison to a Rover diff and the axle tubes look like they've just been stuck into the sides rather than made as a single unit.

    Here is a Salisbury diff from behind. Its a leaf sprung one, not a coiler but the diff is the same.



    Actually if you stand behind the rangie, if you see a ring of bolts around the diff pumpkin it is a salisbury, if you're under the car and you see the ring of bolts around the diff pumpkin then its a rover.

    Go for Standard bushes and not poly's

    Poly's dont flex as well, if they did then LR and every other 4wd manufacturer would use them OE.

    Rubber is the go....

    Superpro seem to be the exception here. They have the benefits of poly, but they're seemingly more flexible than rubber.
