Go to files in the bar at the top, then AULRO Magazines - one of them had a detailed description, which will apply to any Series/Defender, and is similar on the Disco.

On a 300Tdi Defender you have to undo the air intake tube and undo the air cleaner straps and move the air cleaner out of the way initially.

    Hi Stig,

They are a pain, as the Td5 models had more sound deadening etc than the Tdi, and the A/C protrudes further down under the dash so you have to drop it slightly to get that retaining strip for the sound deadening out. The bonnet release too is more of an effort to get out of the way, you have to remove the expansion coolant reservoir and a host of pipes and brackets too under the bonnet. Give me a Tdi one to do anyday

Don't know for a Td5, but popping the pedal rubber off on a 300tdi makes it easier to get out as well.
