D2 V8 Power/Running problems part 2
Drove to work today, drove about 30kms car running fine, overtaking slower cars, car pulled good. Then car started intermittantly hesistation like I was low on gas, switched to petrol the same happened.
I've found that 3 times now, once engine is heated up it plays up, it's either the temp sensor or could it be a slipped liner? Once car cools it's like a new car.
Car isn't overheating or getting hot. Once car is hot, even on petrol it's a dog to drive, doesn't make any power, just have to limp it along. Will test at lunch and see how she is.
Any D2 V8 owners experienced any heat related problems? Doesn't leak coolant, doesn't boil.

Is it needing to be topped up with coolant regularly? If not it's unlikely to be a slipped liner which is generally caused by a cracked block.
Could be sticking valves or AFM or fuel pump.

Traco,
Sticking valves, would this not be noticed when vehicle is cold, after sitting overnight?
Any way to unstick the valve?
Coolant level is ok.
Thanks.

Maybe an O2 Sensor. Mine D2 V8 is doign what you describe and I think it's becuase the LPG is freaking the computer out by getting strange and confusing readings from the O2 Sensors.
How does your exhaust smell. If it's like mine and you have a strong hydrogen sulphide odour it's probably O2 Sensor according to the book!
They are $295 each or $90 for non genuine. So I am living with it for now.
Try starting and running on only one or the other for a few days. The computer might be battling with the constantly changing readings and settings from starting on and then changing from Petrol to LPG. They can take a few days to work things out.
Can you start only on LPG by holding the button on the gas system when you start?
Mine will cough at lower revs in higher gears and is down on power! but after not running for a few days it's happier! Go figure!
