Exclamation Help/advice required urgently - Disco death

    Hi.

Mere female here so please bear with me.

My disco would not start this morning after I knocked off work. Tried to jump start it but no go.

All I am getting is a click when I turn the key.

    So....

    I need the following recommended:

Someone to tow for me and

    A mechanic to fix it.

I live on the northside of Brisbane.

I need advice today as I am parked in some doctor's car park and he isn't happy that he had to park his Boxter elsewhere!

    In anticiation....thanks!

MR Automotive get good reviews on the north side of Brisbane.

As for towing, are you a member of a motoring organisation (RACQ)? They can organise towing.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

does MR specialise in Landrover? Is this a necessity like the dealership told me or will any mechanic worth their salt do?

MR know Landys very well from all I've heard.

Any mechanic should be totally fine, I wouldn't believe anything a dealership says, they want people to believe they are the only option so they can keep taking your money.

Ok I am at Arana Hills so I need to get it towed to Redcliffe right? Cost escalating already. Do you know of anyone closer?

Was going to advertise it for sale this weekend too! bad timing.

Are you a member of RACQ or any other road side assistance program? My first move would be to call them if you are, as they can quite often inspect and diagnose (and even fix if it's something simple) right then and there.

No I'm not but it looks like that is about to change. My problem is where it is parked too, in a locked private carpark!

OK thanks for the help guys, I do appreciate it.

You don't say whether it's a Diesel or V8, Manual or Auto, if it is a manual you may be able to clutch start it, not so an Auto.
Did the engine turn over when you "Jumper Started" it, if it just clicked as before, it is probably the Solenoid on the top of the starter motor jammed, if you can give it a few knocks with a hard object, Jack Handle, Wheel Brace, without touching any of the wires, it may start, hope this helps, bit hard to diagnose from here, BTW check that the battery cables are tight, Regards frank.
