Is the leak ATF or Diesel - I had similar leak recently - the leak being diesel coming from the fuel regulator mounted on the bak of the motor, and finding its way down to drip off the transmission.
Hi all and happy new year!
I've noticed a weeping leak down the side of the auto trans coming from the area of the selector linkage and dripping off the bottom of the case after dribbling down the left side. Any ideas as to the origin? Seals/gaskets needed?
Cheers,
Dave

Well - I had a similar leak on D1 - ended up being Front output seal. I had hoped it was loose cooler hose, or a selectr shaft seal, but in the end they they had to put a seal kit through the pump, which involved pulling the box and transfer. Various specialists quoted 2-3k to do the job. I took it to a well known ZF auto specialist who also does hot rod type work - not land rover related and they did it for around 1k.
My leak started as a weeping - went to a drip then to a torrent in a few hundered k's. Unfortunately it started the week I had advertised it to sell and by the time I took it for a RWC it had started to hemorrhage.
