Question Water coming from centre console D1!

    Hi all

I am hoping this is just a simple thing, I have water coming out of both sides of the centre console in my D1 auto TDI .

The water is only a trickle and its clear, so I don't think it could be the heater. I was thinking maybe it could be condensation from the aircon.

Any sugestions on what it may be?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    Cheers Andy.

    Blocked drain pipes.
Get underneath and rod them out with a bit of wire. You will see the 2 pipes sticking out of the floorpan.

Hi Andy as Andrew said blocked drains, the rubber hose is pointed and is designed to let water out but not in via a sort of flap. The problem is that the rubber tends to stick to itself which prevents the condensation escaping, this then builds up and then over flows onto the floor.

This problem needs to be fixed as it can cause to floor to rust out, you will find more water has gone under the carpet than over it. I fixed mine by nipping the end off the rubber hose, just enough so it doesn't block up.
