Hi all im a bit new 2 this but here goes i have been working on my 2001 td5 manual disco for the last wk i started doing a coolant hose and have ended up taking the warped exhaust manifold off tar like filled inlet manifold off oil clogged inter cooler out and egr system out and through my research have found out that this system is a waste of time so i found on td5alive the kit u need 2 eliminate this system i then asked my good friend round whom works for a laser cutting engineer firm 2 find out if he can laser cut the blanking plate for the exhaust manifold and the flange for the inlet manifold which he has said he can out of mild steel stainless or ally they also do ally, stainless and mild steel welding at this company so depending on price i can have these parts made out of what ever i want i an going 4 304 stainless i hope 2 have it all made this wk as i need my beast back on the road if any 1 has any questions i`ll b happy 2 help i shoud have a price mid wk for all types of material and when they are made i shall post some pics hope this helps people . andy

I know there are a few people on this site that are selling the EGR kits, and whilst not wanting to take business away from them, I am wondering if anyone would be willing to post the measurements of the various components?
I, like some others, have access to the various materials & know-how (ok, its called a Mate who is a boiler maker), but need the measurements. Some diagrams would be even better, cause he works better with pictures...
So, is this possible, or am i going to have to delve into the bag of reasons to find one for SWMBO?
I bought a kit last year, only fitted it this weekend and I realised I need two extra blanks for the heat exchanger, so if you could get your mate to whip up a couple of blanks I'b be happy to fix you up for the cost and postage.
Cheers
Josh
I have done some more research today and have been told that it best 2 use mild steel 2 make my egr bypass so i told my mate that is the way 2 go but i will get the inlet part powdercoted as as they do that out at the enginering place 2 it going 2 b cheeper than stainless and stonger than ally . as for the blanking plates i will get a price off him tomorrow and let you no .
Optimum...
Exhaust - Mild Steel (Same expansion rate as manifold)
Inlet - Alloy - Same expansion rate as inlet...
And hint... Use sentences and paragraphs - not continuous typing, easier to read!
Hey basil how bout u have the fun of stripping the system down your self if u want 2 get the measurments that much dont ask me to tell u i have got 2 td5s 2 doit to thats why my mate is building these kits for me so i no each 1 is exactly the same and will never fail .
BY THE WAY....
Blatant advertising on this board I'm sure breaches the AUP and

So if you are not making any money, why won't you let Basil know the measurements..? Quite a lot of people on here put themselves out to help others. Good on you for helping. Its not always easy to pull apart your own car to do stuff if you need it every day.
I seriously doubt that you will get them made quicker than local or even UK based supply. I would be confident that if you ordered through Devon 4x4 or similar in the UK you would have the kit in under a week, and I am also sure a OZ supplier would be quicker still.
You're not coming across very well here.....
