Turn the dizzy slowly until the exhaust goes off song then slowly turn back till it runs even, wind the mixture screw in until it goes off tune then feed fuel back on until it idles smooth again. That will get you out of trouble, saying that they are no different to any engine of there vintage so any mechanic could tune it for you in no time. Are the leads plugs in good nick?,they don't like old leads. Thanks Pat, but this beast still has the twincarbys so its a bit harder than a single carb.

The best thing for tuning twins is a tube fed down the venturi of each carb in turn and the other end in your ear!!,tune them till they both sound the same, sounds funny but it works. Pat

A bit confusing, as in your previous post you were talking about timing & mixture, and here you are talking about the throttle butterflies!

In any case, the ignition is probably more important as a starting point. If it is conventional ignition, I would be checking plugs, points, leads, timing, and the distributor vacuum advance before getting to the carbies.

    Cheers,
