Why dim them, thats what there for-to see at night. I want to make mine brighter so i can actually see everything
I would like to dim the Defender instrument panel lights for night driving.
Has anyone done this?
Maybe there is a kit available?
Any suggestions appreciated with thanks.

You must have a problem to start with. I cant see mine during the day and I wish they were brighter.Jim

Any panel light rheostat from a wrecker would work, or a 5w 25ohm rheostat ought to work. It could be mounted on the panel above the switches in front of your right knee - I have my driving light switch there, and from memory there was plenty of room. Also handy to the wiring from the switch.

Thanks gentlemen.
Now i just have to find the right wire......incoming current between the light switch and panel I presume??!!

anyone sort this one out? what was the outcome? (i know this post is old)
If you mean the panel of warning lights.
I agree the lowbeam and highbeam warning lights are too bright out in the sticks at night.
a strip of white electrical tape over the panel; I have calculated this to be equivalent to 25ohms of electrical resistancequick and cheap.
