Thread: 300 Tdi vacuum pump?

IIRC #1 on TDC so you aren't working against the cam.

One of the bolts is a ba$tard to get back in (at least on mine).

Anyone know if they can be separated to get at the spring (I think mine broke)

Here you go Sumo, here is the fix i did and did a tutorial on it and added it to the LR sit i used to have, i have loaded this to my new site so AULRO members could still access as it as lots of people were asking where it went

i should say, it doesnt make the brakes 100% and a little bit of oil might weap out but it will make a difference and you wont have a pool of oil on top of your diff any more. Mine weaps a small amount but barely drips.

Its easy to do, but i have refined my technique a little and i dont use a gasket now i put a good smear of gasket sealant around the edge and bolted it up, make sure you use bolts with hex head as the phillips head ones i used werent any good as you couldnt get them tight enough to seal so it leaked after a while. I have gasket sealant in mine with hext head bolts (the ones you get in packs of six ar REPCO etc are good) and its been good for a while now. Hope this helps. Matt
