Sorry all. It is a Hyundai. Seemingly runs real well except for oil usage. Jim
Worn engine for sure. You will have to do tests to see where in engine it is going.
You could try a thicker oil,but you are only puting off the enevitable.![]()

Ah. A Korean Mitsubishi.
My money is on the oil going out the exhaust.
Hi jx2mad, any further developments on you oil consumption issues? It's always nice to know how things turned out. Cheers, 130man.
Valve stem seals?
Sorry to say that I really think it is a common Hyundai/ Mitsubishi oil burning issue here. The mechanic isn't wrongThese vehicles are known oil consumers after reaching 100K, or sometimes earlier

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
If everything is Ok with the motor you could talk to your Mechanic and use a heavyer grade oil that would suit an engine with a bit of Ware.
I had an old V8 RRC that was using a bit of oil and was recomended HPR 50 Penrite and this stopped consumption between changes 5000kms and seemed to run smoother only time I used Penrite, I am not brand loyal.
This is to heavy for a 4Cyl but I am sure your machanic will be able to recomend a sutable grade and brand.
cheers Allan
