And for Jojo, the switch is on the top of the transfer case, near the CDL mechanism.

Check the wires are attached to the switch tabs. OK?

Check that one wire shows +12V when the ignition is on. OK?

Check the operation of the switch with a multimeter - should be on when CDL is engaged. OK?

Have you got a manual? RAVE 1 or 2? Check out the adjustment section for the switch in Overhaul Manual, Transfer Gearbox, LT230T.

Adjust or replace, depending on the outcome of the above.

The first step is normally the problem.

Have you got a manual of any sort to check up against? Even a Haynes manual will give you some clues. And a pointy probe on the multimeter set on dc V.

I'm hesitant to go further because pictures of the interior on another thread look like a 2 door dash, but the colours you have given don't gel on the 1976> wiring info.

    Take a punt, champ.

Yeah, I've got a workshop manual but from it it's difficult to tell. I'll plug in a power cable to the blank/prink connector too and see what happens. Might have the fire extinguisher on hand given the other issues I've been having with it lately!!

    BTW, it's an '81 model.

Thanks for your help though Pete :

Sorted this on Saturday. Wahoo! Me and electrics don't really mix, although in theory they should be fairly straight forward?!
The black wire attached to the warning bulb wasn't an earth as I though and as others seem to be. I hooked the power up to it and away she went!

    Now, onto the next issue!
