    Silicone Coolant Hoses

    Hi, just wondering if anyone has any experience with silicone coolant hoses:

    Darton fabricated parts and accessories

    Whilst expensive - you get all three formed hoses for GBP165 + GBP20 = GBP195 delivered (just less than $400AUD) - They should last forever.

    With an OEM set costing around $180 or so and probably only lasting 5 years or so, I'm thinking of getting a set as I think mine are coming top the end of their useful life.

    I've asked if they can supply heater hose and the other small hoses as well.

    Hi Iain;

    IMHO , tis an expensive kit , I've only replaced the Turbo and interooler hoses with silicon ones , $45 from TurboXS , I didn't bother with the top intake hose , still OEM. and it's still original after 6 years of owning it

    The Silicon hose that's shown in the Kit for the Bottom of expansion tank to the side of water pump , I've only just replaced mine after 6 years and it was fine , but just as a preventative maitenance. I recon it had a few more years left in it .

    They do last well but I have found them more prone to being damaged from rubbing and can be slippery to clamp on

    I actually met up with darton fabrication at billing with the previso that I was going to import there products...being ali header tanks....silcone hoses for the coolant etc etc.

    the reason I didn't COST....although the silicone coolant hoses are great and I looked at getting them myself, they ARE too expensive! and I didn't think I could sell them at a profit for the cost that they were to import.

    They are expensive because at the time darton was the only people making them...I hung off as I figured in a year or two everyone will jump on the bandwagon which will force the price down.
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
