Caught fire (well that was first impressions)

Driving long minding my own business and the car filled with smoke, franticlly pulled up, opened the back, grabbed the extinisher, open bonnet to disconect two batteries. Bythen the smoke had stoped and cleared. Made3 lots of checks and could find nothing and all systems working, scratch the head thinking the thermo fuse had kicked out and the problem wire must hae burnt through and now wasnt to earth. Got home and made some checks and found a very shrivelleed up power adoptor that I plug into my fridge socket in the rear. I had pulled this at the same times as I got the extisher out. Its amazing how much smoke comes from one little wire
    cheers

    Scraey Stuff isn't it.
I had a situation in an XF ford Wagon I once owned. We have a Claret Ash and during the Autumn it drops a load of small leaves. These got into the Xf air intake from the ventilation grill near the windscreen.
I was driving along with our baby son in the back when all of a sudden sparks and smoke started coming out of the Air Vents, along with a lot of Ash.
Then it really started bellowing out stinking Smoke like an incinerator. It was the trapped leaves that had worked there way into the blower compartment and the heater was burning them.
I pulled over got the baby out, with smoke bellowing out of the Car for a few moments. Funny enough noone even pulled over to offer any assistance.
