    Unhappy Engine surging/not reving

Wondering if anyone can help me out here.!

On Staurday morning, I noticed the car was down on power. About an hour after that, I drove it again and it seemed fine.

This morning when driving, the engine seemed to surge/ not freely reving. When you back off, it seems to pull ok between 2000-2500rpms if you accelerate lightly then surges aroung 2500rev onwards. If you plant the foot, it revs but does not pull well. After driving for about 40minutes into work, i noticed it stopped surging and the car is down on power again.

    Any thoughts!

Im guessing its a diesel if so the fuel filter would be my first port of call

2003 td5 going from other posts?

Oil in ecu loom plugs could explain some of it.
    Fuel pump
    Collapsed intercooler hose.

I agree with Psimpson7, oil in the injector harness is what I'd check first..

If it was the fuel filter it would be screaming it's head off, and normally won't make the engine surge, just miss.

    Engine surging/not reving

Had a quick look and could not see oil on the ECU end. Had a look on the turbo side and noticed a small black vacuum hose that connects to the black pipe (I think it goes to the inter cooler) had come off and had actually split too. Did not have a spare but had enough length to cut some off and re-attach. There was also connector that came of the intake pipe that goes to the air filter which had come off. After sorting this out , the car drives so much better. I'm hoping this is all it was. Its been two day's now and the problem has not come back. Thanks to those who have responded.
