Water will work as a clutch fluid.

I've just spoken to Joel. He's at Honeymoon Bay near Jervis Bay.

It sounds like the sump plug to which he referred is the wading plug.

I've suggested he fill the master cylinder with water as it can be flushed with metho when he gets back to civilisation. He has to get to Warragamba.

Ditto the water. Never, ever use any sort of engine/gear/mineral oil (unless we are talking about a Citröen )

<edit> you're slipping Ron, you haven't corrected the spelling yet

(I'm a mod on another forum and it's usually a case of "who's going to do it first" as the admin and another mod are publishers/editor types. Spelling and grammar drive them bananas )

I told him not to use engine oil.

I hadn't got around to fixing the subject line.

Glad you made it home OK.

I wonder if it would be best to get rid of the water today or if it will be OK waiting until tomorrow.

I suspect you are going to need a new kit in the master and/or slave cylinder.
