Unhappy Discovery II TD5 fuel line leak

    Hi,

I have unfortunately a chaffed fuel line in the Hi Pressure hose due to the wiring harness as outlined in the recall D169 .

Does anyone know what the corrective action was for this fix? Apart from replacing the hose.

Can you replace this plastic fuel line with a rubber version?

    Cheers.

From memory it was replace the chafed pipe and fit rubber protective strips to prevent further chafing.

It is important to get it right, I have seen a few that chafed AFTER the recall was done.

    Thanks BigJon,

There is a recall sticker on the car but I cannot read any info on it so assume it does not cover this problem as there are no bits of rubber on the pipes..... urrrggh.

Will get some and apply to all pipes to keep them away from other bits.

Already had to replace a coolant hose that had chaffed on the battery wiring harness.... not sure why they used plastic pipes but it is annoying.

I now carry a couple of meters of 8mm rubber heater hose in the tool box just in case another bit goes up front whilst off road.

    Cheers,

    Grot
