    Have you had your alpine window rust treated in sydney?

    Where and how much did it cost...

    I went to a bloke that was recommended by boxhead asked about rust treatment in one alpine a full roof re-spray (as he said around 400/500 dollars which I thought was pretty good)
    and all new rubbers for the side windows and the rear windscreen. took all my numbers down chassis etc

    Never got back to me

    I really need to get my window rubbers changed out as all 3 have big gaping hole in them now and will no doubt be letting moisture if not water in.

    Also want the rust done before it advances anywhere. and my clear coat has let go on the roof so would like the roof done also.

    And don't say paint the roof your self....the bonnets one thing all that rubbing back and stuff is another not to take paint layers off underneath so I wont be attempting that. But if there is anyone here that can by all means PM with you labour costs

    I had mine quoted last week, $650 for both windows and the roof painted.
    He is located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

    Any panel beater should be able to do this but I'd prefer to use someone who has done this sort of work before.
    I'd use Caldwells at Condell Park myself.

    Motor2000 at Pennant Hills Did mine a few years back , but I doubt if you' were to drive that far to have your Alpine rust treated and Roof Painted .

    funnily enough another member who is over seas has just PM'd me with the same details for this place....

    Scott do you know whether they would be able to do my window rubbers as well on the side and rear window?

    Yes. It might be slightly cheaper if you source theparts yourself though.

    If the side & tailgate rubbers are not part of the repair though, maybe get a quote first from a windscreen mob, just to compare prices. I'm not sure if Caldwells do glass R&R in house or have a contractor come in.

    Just got a quote......lovely bloke

    But holey schmoley $1000 I only have the tiniest bit of rust on one side he reckons he will have to weld a piece in though. This is for the roof being painted as well...but the guy that boxhead went to for his rust treatment quoted 400/500 for a roof paint I will also lose the car for 4 days...which is a problem as its my only means of transport to work.

    I don't know what to do as he is or appears to be expensive from the other quotes I have seen and the other quote i have got but he seems to know what he is doing

    Only get what you pay for Mate, maybe get another couple of quotes for comparision.
    The $400/500 quote aint worth jack **** if he don't call you back.
    He might have priced the rubbers and found he under quoted and no balls to to tell you he stuffed up.

    no the 400/500 was just the roof paint not the rubbers he was supposed to ring me back after he found a price for the rubbers...
