    Smoking

I was on my way home from work tonight when I put the boot into the TD5 through the gears (manual) to get on the freeway.
I looked in the left mirror and there appeared to be alot of smoke.
It was dark so I was looking through the smoke at the lights following.
So is this just an illusion as it never seems smokey in the daylight, or should I shorten the wast gate actuator a bit and push a little more in to the motor under load.
The car is running fine and returning better than 10K's to the litre for mixed driving.
I have Silicone hoses, EGR removed and an upgraded ECU.
    Your thoughts Gentleman

    Thanks Lionel

The D2 will puff a bit under hard throttle, quite normal, but a lot less than many other diesels around, particularly the Jap stuff.
I followed a 200 Series up an entry ramp onto the motorway the other day,and the smoke was unbelievable.

    I think its unburnt fuel...

    What is this "upgraded ECU"?
Been chipped for more fuel perhaps?

Do you have an EGT gauge?

It was done by British Off Road on the Sunshine Coast QLD, I have no idea what map it is, only that they flashed the ECU with the new map.
The couple of people who have driven it say it feels real nice with good power delivery, without being over the top.
It get good economy, 900K's to 80 ltrs of fuel, with a mix of reeway and round town.
I think it's more to do with the lights behind it making it look worse than it really is, can harley see it in day light.
    No EGT gauge.
