    TD300 engine no?

    Can anyone give any info on this TDi300 engine no. 4B8B73A64158Q.
    How does one go about getting this type of info

    I think you have something other than a LR 300Tdi - the engine number on my 95 Disco is in the form of 18L, 5 numerals and an A at the end. 200 Tdi's have a lower prefix, later engines go up to 22L I think.

    11L-12L are for the 200tdi. 16L is a 300tdi defender. 24L is egr defender. 18L-22L is disco 300tdi.
    You have some other number. The engine number is on the drivers side front of the engine facing up just below the injector. No doubt you will have to clean all the oil off it to even know its there.

    Hmmm! Interesting, what have I got? Is it perhaps a HS2.6L TVG.
    It is a factory replacement long motor. It was made in Argentina by International and shipped to a LandRover place in UK, From there it was shipped to Melbourne and then shipped to me in Brisbane. That is the correct engine number.

    Well it is a TDi300 motor. Apparantly they are all made by International now, When Ford took over Landrover they gave the TDi castings to International. The number is an International world number.
