    Opinions....

    Hi ppl,s...

Sorry but i just wanted to ask as im new with disco,s and am starting the work on my new one. 98 disco I TDI. I have 4" mega lift coils ready for it and was wondering whats the best combination for that lift.

I was getting tough dog 50mm extended travel shocks but maybe not enough down travel for 4" springs?? Do they make a longer shock or do i just get those and maybe space the shock mounts slightly. Whats gonna work the best for the 4" springs???

I have to yet get adjustable panards, and ill look at dropped radius arms ect and maybe 2" b. lift too.... I will be fitting 33/10.5 tyres. Any info and ideas would be greatly appreciated. OH and if i have to shave guards, where are the usual key areas that scrub, And for tyres, can i get 15" or will that have problems with hitting brake calipers? I see heaps of ppl run a 16" and the the equivalent to the 33".

    Thanks.

I doubt 50mm longer shocks will work very well with 4" springs, i would go for longer shocks!

hi mate sounds like you have a build up happening. I have just done this to my county 110. for my shocks I had the car sit on level ground to measure the static height, measured the bump stop height and the distance between the shock mounts.Remove the shocks then use a high lift jack to lift the car high enough to get one sides wheels off the ground, measured the distance between the shock mounts, this give you the open shock length next you need to subtract the bump stop clearance from the static shock mount height, this is the closed lenght of your shock now you either find a shock for the lenght and make new mounts or you use stock mounts and compromise. because you are lifting your car 4inch you should do some castor correction the best way is to slot the swivel hubs and Les Richmond Automotive can do that and they will sell a flare kit so you can run 33'' tyres as well.

    Try Shane at Suspensionstuff.com.au

    In particular these: https://www.suspensionstuff.com.au/s...f7pquqtvbblck7

The Disco in the photo is Knotty's from here. Those Procomp shocks seem to have pretty good specs

I second Treads post, you will find Shane very helpful
Also the boss 12 stage adjustables look great and have received excelent feedback
They would be my choice either procomps or Boss

    Welcome by the way

On a 4" lift ... You will also have to seriously consider vibrations from your front uni joints .... and seriously consider some "castor corrected swivel balls"

    Do a search ....
