    Swivel Preload resistance in KG?

Iam rebuilding both front swivels with new seals and bearings and was wondering if the preload swivel bearing resistance is between 1.16 to 1.46kg that it states in my copy of RAVE 3rd edition.

Cause a few other forums Ive being doing a little research on say between 5,5to 7.3kg and 6kg being the ideal resistance.

Ive done some searching on here but cannot **** anything on resistance in kg.

Also its a 1994 landrover defender if that helps.

My manual states 3.6 - 4.5kg for the 110. I know of no reason why the early Defenders would be different. That is without the seal.

That larger figure quoted is for the quick and nasty method of checking swivel preload with seal on - stay with LR specs, and do the test with the seal off. Roughly, just firm is OK, stiff is too much and loose, is well, loose.
