Unhappy Car not going no more

Hi all, just got my new 88 Rangie registered and now she not going. Spark at the plugs, new fuel filter[as old one looked like the origanal], fuel pump flowing fuel, but not starting. Used to start and run before putting some more fuel in but now tries to run at first but then no fire...fuel. Fires on initial turn of key but then just turn over with no go. Very dissapointing that I cant drive it. Any ideas please. Bob.

Might seem a silly question, but did you put the correct type of fuel in? or did the fuel possibly have water in it?

    Good luck

pull the plugs out and make sure they are not fouled up......

did that model have a cold start injector......?

    ignition module.....?

    it will be something simple.....

To rule out fuel or ign this is how I do it on the road side.... Disconnect the fuel pump relay and make sure the plugs are dried out. Take the air filter out and give it a wiff of start ya bastard. If it arcs up and runs on you have a stable ignition so now its fuel. If it won't fire it's ignition.

9 times out of 10 when this happens they are flooded. For a few possible reasons. Cold start injector, shot fuel regulator etc.

Not a silly question but the fuel that comes out is very yuck. Maybe a drain and flush of tank and replace the fuel. Bob

If it's been sitting for a while maybe it's collected water in the tank
I would drain the tank and give it a good flush out
