    Boost actuator HS2.8, part number?

Does anyone know the part number for the boost actuator on the HS2.8 turbo.
I have found a GT2256V that bolts straight onto the 200tdi manifold, but it has a vacuum actuator (damaged). I assume I would need a boost actuator with the correct spring pressure.

Are you willing to try an experimental vacuum setup?
I've got an idea that could work with the stock vacuum actuators on most variable vane turbos, but I haven't yet had the opportunity to try it.

    It'll need:
A vacuum source (you'll have a vacuum line for your brakes).
A line off the intake manifold to give boost pressure.
A needle valve or two (even home sprinkler system valves for 30c work).
Make a small adjustable spring loaded ball valve. Some people sell these as boost controllers.

Basically regulate a small amount of vacuum through to the actuator, enough to keep it closed when the manifold reads no boost. Have the boost line into this through the ball/spring valve.
The ball/spring valve only passes air from the manifold when your boost target is reached, thus reducing the vacuum in the actuator and maintaining your set maximum boost.

    Let me know.

Yes, that is my second option.
I thought a boost actuator would be a lot simpler though.
I might even get a boost actuator with a soft spring and regulate it with a spring ball valve/boost controller.

There are some benefits to a vacuum actuator.
If anything fails, it goes into "open" mode, reducing boost. Rather than the "holy cow this pulls well" that some nissan ZD30 owners experience for a limited time.
It also cycles the vanes on startup and shutdown, maybe this will help keep them clear of soot and moving freely.

What is your GT2256V from? I have one from a mercedes, it has the weirdest flange shape.

This is all I can find on the HS2.8 GT2256V.

I think mine is from an Iveco 2.8 2004.

I only have the complete Garrett numbers and the MWM-International pt. #

Clever thinking using the 200Tdi manifold, that's exactly what I've contemplated using too.

The HS2.8 turbo uses a 3 bolt turbine flange too, not a T25 style 4 bolt so that Iveco one makes things easier there.

AFAIK, Garrett don't list any part numbers for any components against any of their VNT turbos.

Edit: the only markings on the boost actuator are "WAHLER" (looks like manufacturer of actuator), then at 180 deg from name is stamped "2/2" and at 270 deg from name is stamped "S 16/2".

    Hope that helps.
