    How far towards the front?

If it is on the drivers side at the rear of the engine then it will be the fuel pressure regulator. It is a known problem.

If you use the search function you will find heaps of information about it.

The above is the most common leak, it can also be the fuel cooler that can leak, both are drivers side, the fuel cooler is the cylinder shaped thing under the inlet manifold.

    Cheers Baz.

I have seen these leak coolant, but not fuel. Is a fuel leak from the cooler common?

Dielsel dripping from you bell housing? Do a search on Fuel Pressure Regulator. It's located on the drivers side of the engine, near the firewall. I'd be 99% sure that's your problem.

Fuel Pressure Regulator (a common TD5 problem). You can buy from Rovacraft in Perth. I highly recommend them. (NO I do not have any connection to Rovacraft - they are just better than LR). My TD5 has done 140k and no sign of a fuel leak from my FPR yet (just lucky I guess). NOTE that there are two different types of FPR for the TD5.
