    Diesel.. wheres it from?

    G'day guys...

    discoII td5 auto

thought i had an oil leak and a minor diesel leak as i was getting a whiff of it when outside the car...

so... i fixed the oil leak (rear of the rocker cover again!) there is a small one weeping around the sump bolts too... will sort that later as its very very minor..

i looked but couldnt see any sign of a diesel leak ..

anyway.. the car after about a week has finally stopped dripping oil.. but is now dripping neat diesel! its appearing around the bottom of flywheel housing and in the small vent / drain hole which is at that point too.. its seems to be getting gradually worse and i cannot fathom out where it would be from? any ideas? im assuming its running around the flywheel housing and also between the metal gasket / spacer between the housing and the block.

Thanks in advance for any clues!

    bah had my suspicions..

but.... is that the silver cannister just to the outside of the inlet manifold?

if so... i have looked pretty hard and it seems dry...

    if not.. i'll look again

    Thanks Tombie!

I forgot to check the price but it came in a box of bits that totaled $1k+ with a full coolant hose set, filter set and a hub set.

    You'll only need...

3 O'rings, 1 gasket, a few hours and about $20.00 to fix it

    So they ARE repairable?

You haven't thought of putting together a repair kit (with correct size and material O'rings etc) for sale by any chance have you Tombie?

Yep, guess what I have just found mine is the same. I thought it was an oil leak, but just smelt diesel this morning and found a pool of diesel.
Is there a kit available? Or can I just buy the right size orings and make a gasket?
If it is just the o rings can not see the point of replacing the whole unit.
