So I get home yesterday, after working on my roof rack and feeling pleased with the progress. Pull up, turn off, engine starts to die, turn key to "off" and it starts up again. First I c*****d myself that it was running on and was going to rev up and explode

, but no, it just merrily kept going

, the only items shut down were the accessories. The key was in my hand out of the ignition. When I put it back in, the engine would stop at "accessories" then restart in "on", but I could not get the key out without turning to fully off, which was now a second "on"
Crikey, it's normally NOT going I worry about! Taking apart the switch revealed that the plug in the fusebox had only one live "input", but when the ignition switch was plugged in, two wires became live. After "donking" the plastic switch casing a bit, one wire (a green striped one) went dead and everything went back to normal.
I guess the switch has buggered internally but anyone else had this?
