    12v socket for rear of disco

    Hi just looking for some help with the wiring of a 12v socket to the rear of my D1 (under rear bar). I have a redarc dual batt. Just wondering if i can run the wirin straight off the 2nd batt or do i have to run it through the accesories etc. I know little about electrical stuff. Any advice would be great guys.

    I usually run the wire straight off the battery (positive and negative) and put a fuse on the positive line close to the battery. This is because it's usually to run a fridge or light and I want it on regardless of the car running or not. If you use a twin core 6mm (4.5mm2) then you'll be fine with anything you want in an accessory socket.

    What are you looking at running off it Russ?
    Just wondering if you're intending it to be a supply for a caravan fridge.

    Have a look at the wiring diagrams at www.traxide.com.au - he advertises here and Tim (drivesafe) is nice guy to deal with if you want any bits to do it with.

    all done, too easy. did it in 4 beers... works a treat for the lights for camping
