300Tdi injector pump. Guesstimate of price?

    Anybody had this done recently?

Also what do you think of the re-furbished exchange concept?

    cheers

if you can do a timing belt then an exchange unit is the way to go.

expect to pay over $1000 for a drive in drive away rebuild.

Personally I don't think its worth it.When mine goes I'll import one from the UK as I can't see how you could rebuild one to zero hour condition for much cheaper. Pat

You'd be paying around $1200 , if the diesel guy does an exchange for a fully rebuilt unit and your needs a full rebuild with new parts probably a bit more . I don't know price of new ones.

Ooooh, now there is an anecdote I won't pass on to my mate who has trucked his 110 trayback to Perth for a rush repair.

His Defender is about 12 months older than mine and pretty similar kms, so as soon as something happens to his, I start to worry.

    Update

Well i just got off the phone with my mate. Apparently they fired it up at the workshop and it ran like a dream. A test drive showed it was well up on power.

Whatever it was got sorted by the bumpy ride up to Perth on the back of the trailer. The best guess is that it's the lift pump even though that appeared to be working when all the usual fuel things were checked at the time of breakdown. There is some weeping there so they reckon air is getting in.
