    Hi Members.
Im confused as to what wheels can be interchanged.
I have a 96 130 defender and am in the process of building a trailer using the tub of the back, and would like to know what will fit on the axles from other landrovers.
    cheers guys.

All Defender and Discover up until 1998 (D1) rims fit the same stud pattern.

The stud pattern is the same on :-

    All Series Landrovers 1948 - 1984
    All Classic Rangerovers 1970 -199?
    All Discovery 1
    All Landrover 110/90/Defender 1983 - 2009

Wheel width and offsets vary, and some wheels, particularly alloys, will not fit on Series/Defender hubs with protruding drive axle ends, or with drum brakes.

But for your purpose on a trailer all of the above would be able to share the spare on your Defender.

Wheels from Rangerover post Classic, Discovery 2, Discovery 3 and Freelander have a different wheel stud arrangement and won't fit.

    Hope that helps

(So you can't use Freelander, Disco2, Disco3, P38 Range Rover, curret shape Range Rover or Range Rover Sport rims)

    However...

Being a 130 and the extra weight involved means:

    • You shouldn't be using alloys.
    • The steel rims should be the heavier duty type (130 or Wolf spec)... which are 6.5" wide.

BTW - There are now duplicate threads as the same question has been asked in the technical section.

    Is it worth merging???

If Disco 1 rims fit, then Classic Rangie rims will also fit , don't know about weight issues though.

Whilst this is true... Make sure you get rims that will take the load you need and also the rim width that fits your tyres (assuming your wanting to be able to put a trailer wheel on the car / reduce no of spare etc).

16x7 TX rims get my vote, or the wolf rims.
