best way to connect fuel line

    Hi all,
I'v been having trouble with my 300 tdi starting and running, checked sedameter and that was squeeky clean, now has new seals. Can prime the fuel via lift pump so that must be ok. Once primed the engine starts first time.

On taking a thorough look at the fuel lines with a torch i came across a small split in the hose that runs back to the tank next to the anaroid boost thingy.

So what i want to do is cut the crack out and connect a piece of fuel line in place, what is the best way to do this. I have 2 meters of an elphinstone fuel line rated at 2500psi and is 1/8" inch. Is there some sort of connector piece i can use.

I can see fuel leeking out of crack and when i turn the engine off i can here the fuel running back out the tubes, what would be the best thing to do?

    Thanks in advance
    Steve

I had a similar problem with my D1 in 2 places. There is a stainless connector available from hydraulic shops. Simply take in a section of the fuel line, and they will match it up. Mine has been in place 2 years without a problem. The ends of the line simply push in and they can't pull back out unless you depress the collar.

Most hardware shops and spare parts shops have straight barbed connectors, all you need do is cut out the buggered bit and using 2 brass connectors and 4 hose clamps, push the connectors into the 2 ends of the hose, tighten hose clamps, fit the new bit of hose to the connectors and tighten the other 2 hose clamps, proper job, Regards Frank.

    Thankyou both for replying.
I ended up going to Enzed and got a stainless adapter. Stopped the fuel leek once i cut the hose straight enough.
