    Stromberg CD carb needles.

I have a stromberg CD carburettor off an old 2.6 landrover. It is now on different engine and so i am after a different needle for it. Does anyone know where to get the metering needles from?
I have been considering just getting another needle the same and giving it a polish to correct the mixture in certain spots. But i was thinking maybe a range rover needle may be closer to what i was after. So does anyone know what the needle number was for a range rover with the pre emissions carb (its got the adjustable jet in the bottom). I have some tables of the needle profiles so then , hopefully, i would be able to compare it to what i have.

    Cheers,
    Dan.

I have 2 here, 1 spare and 1 on my 2.6 I swaped over the needle, diaphram part of it because the diaphram on the one in the car was crap. Big mistake, it was adjusted differently and overfuelled massively!

The needles side by side seem to have different profiles as well, but one could just be worn. But different ones must be available.

    Hello Phoenix,
I know there is different needles, i have a list of them. So there is a good chance you have two different ones. The one i have here has the number written up on the shank. The number is 4J. If you have them out you can see if they have the same number.
My trouble is that i have a listing of the needles but no idea what they were used in. Let alone where to get them in australia. I believe you can get them in england. I was thinking i would most likely be able to get range rover ones but was hopeing to get a number so i could look up and see the profile first.

    Cheers

Thanks Richard. I couldn't fix it as FireFox was playing up. I couldn't even get IE to work. I had to reboot and by the time that was done, you'd fixed it.
