Disco tank is 89 litres with 9 litres being reserve so when the light comes on in theory should take 80 litres to fill.
hi guys
I have a 97 disco, 300 tdi manual.
I can only ever squeeze 70 litres in the tank. I fill up as soon as the fuel light comes on, as far as i know when that light comes on there is 9 litres left in tank. I'm getting 700+km's out of a the 70 litre i put in it but i though they could hold 90 litres. could the fuel light be coming on to early or am i misinformed?
Thanks steve

In my v8 D1 I could usually only get 70 litres in but if I rocked the car when filling the other 10 litres would go in - using this method the max fill I ever achieved was 84 litres which with the small amount of fuel still in the tank sounds about right.
I guess there are air pockets which clear when the car is rocked.
