Receiver dryer was changed. Oil level is unknown along with gas charge. Have not checked for hot - cold spots. You have given me alot of things to check and thanks for those hints. I will let you know how it goes

Is it still noisey with the air-con turned off?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

one thing i for got to say was the mounting plate is tight and flush on engine block as well as the compressure this could allso cause knocking sound at low rpm and quiten up at high rpm

air conditioner compressor noisy
Thanks for all the hints. It looks like the guilty part was the compressor pulley clutch drive. Have replaced it with a second hand unit and just about all the noise has disappeared.

glad you found it if you got to do a compressor again throw a scaden sd17 or some thing simular on dose not take mutch to make up the bracket to fit one or just get one from aircon joint these work extremly good and save a lot of wieght compared to the york style type :0
