Timing belt replacement cost for a 300tdi Defender???

    Hi all

I am just after a ball park figure (cost of kit + labour) for a timing belt replacement on a 1998 300 tdi Defender 130.

I also need the oil seal replaced at the front of the motor.

I am just rying to work out my budget...after recently forking out $6500 for a new gearbox, transfer and clutch, my budget is looking very bad!

    Cheers

I had the timing belt done on my 98 D1 with 300Tdi for around $600 I think it was at the start of the year.

The kit was around the $300 mark, the rest was labour.

I had a lot of work done for that money.

    Reconditioned R380 Gearbox
    Reconditioned LT230 Transfer Case
    New clutch kit
    Machined fly wheel
    New engine rear main seal
    New tail shafts
    Reconditioned handbrake mechanism
    2nd hand clutch pedal box
    Resleeved slave cylinder
    new clutch master cylider...

It's a sh1tload of stuffed parts on a car that has only done 190,000kms.... The previous owner must have driven it like it was stolen.
