My latest Landy mechanic drives a 130 Td5 Defender, I swap Landies whenever I need work done on mine.
I jumped in this morning full well expecting the normal Td5 turbo lag dead spot. None
I couldn't beleive it, and I only stalled it once. Us Tdi owners know what I'm talking about
I asked him about it, he's running an Audi turbo that has only recently been reprogrammed
I thought I might pass this on for those of you wishing to cure your Td5 of the dead spot
It's all good until you hear the price tag![]()
I'm sure he's not the only one with this setup, does anyone on here have a similar setup ?
Na not Charlie
A mate of his. Last I heard of Charles he was doing the Simpson Desert. Lucky bugger
If you like I could arrange some pics, send me a PM you may know him
Are you for real a Td5 with the usual flat spot , not mine or any other Td5 ive driven
Now if you meant a Tdi i would understand because ive owned one before giver me that Td5 over a Tdi any day![]()
I get lag off idle, but no flat spot.
Cheers
Slunnie

lag pfftt..
no since Tombie play with it anyway,
only thing I get now is Black smokeand power......
Well mine has lag, and Id love to hear of a way of reducing it. I've also felt the difference a variable vane turbo can make. Ive driven Ford transits before and after the factory up grade. What a difference.
If you can get photos and maybe make and model of turbo and weather it has an integrated waste gate. These flap type on the disco are rubbish.
