D4 Ignition key won't turn with steering wheel locked

Brand new D4, ignition will not turn with the steering wheel locked. Tried the usual trick of turning the steering wheel left and right, called the NRMA guy and he tried tapping the ingition barrel and spraying WD40 into it to lubricate without success. He called around to his mates and apparently it is a known problem which requires landrover service. Could not tow it becasue it is in a car park and has the electronic hand brake on.

One thing that was strange was the Park Brake lamp did not stay lit, nor did it release.

    A D4 with a known problem already??

There is a method of releasing the handbrake manually on the D3 but I don't know if the D4 is the same.

You haven't seen one in for that at the workshop, Scott? Not that well known then.

Why would the Park Brake lamp stay lit if the ignition was not on? The last thing you need is for it to randomly release! Or am I missing the point?

I thought normally the park brake light was lit to indicate the state of these new push button hand brakes. Still fairly new to the car so I could be imagining things.

The park brake light stays lit for a little while after applying but is normally off when the car is turned off.

Just call the Land Rover Assist number (it should be on the drivers window) & let them worry about retrieving the car from the carpark.
It might need the use of go jacks if they can't get a truck in there.
