Where are you located Viking?
Gidday team, Got an amatuer working on my Disco. After driving in the car now does not operate. He said I needed to replace injectors to limit smokey exhaust. Done that, now says fuel injector now has problems. another $1200-$1500 to fix. So yeah car drove in and now will cost me a minimum of $2000 to get car to operate. Wanna get it out this guys hands and get to someone who know's what he is doin.
Where are you located Viking?

As a fellow tdi owner, there are a few reasons why a tdi gets 'smokey' - the injector pump isn't always the culprit. The people at Ricks are definitely the one's to look at the disco. If you search using the terms 300tdi and injector pump you'll find a rebuild of the bosch pump ranges from $800-1000. If you do want another opinion, most diesel workshops (ie trucks) are familiar with the Bosch rotary injector pump.
Anyone heard how Andrew(Viking) is going with his vehicle? I spoke briefly with him earlier in the week, and then his mech, who mentioned metal particles floating around in the pump under the stop solenoid plunger, but haven't got an update as to the resolution to his problem.
Any news?
