you could ring M R Automotive, they have done a few and am pretty sure they do up a kit
Hello to all you gurus,
Just thinking out loud.
I have been thinking of downsizing and selling the Def90. With the S3 to get dirty, the Defender seems a little redundant and mainly gets used around Melbourne. I just love driving it though.
So, rather than sell it and buy a buzz box that will last 5 years, I am now thinking of converting it to a ZF Auto instead. (Makes traffic jams a little more pleasent)
So, given I haven't got the skills to do this conversion myself, how much would this cost..(Ball Park guess welcome ) and does anyone have any suggestion (in Melbourne) of someone that would be will to undertake this conversion.
Also any comments on fitting a ZF behind the Td5 would be welcome.

Paul,
Range-Rov i Vic recently converted a D1 to Td5 and retained the hydraulically controlled autobox. (The vehicle was just sold damaged at auction in the NT) This would save a lot of mucking about as you need no trans ECU etc. It is as I understand a pretty easy conversion to a Defender Td5, comparitively, and would be a great result. Go for it! Ashtrans can help with more info no doubt.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Ritter, around $9,000.
Bruce Davis from DPL has a ZF HP24ES with compu shift in a warmed TD5 90. He says the torque converter needs work for it to go well.
You're right JC lots of good stuff here Ashcroft Transmissions
Well got some positive responses from Range-Rov - I'll have to pop in and have a chat.
Also got a reply form Dave Ashcroft re shipping some bits out from UK. [Nice exchange rate at the moment (52p = AU $1).]
Geez their website is cool - love the sound of the compushift setup.
The NAS console makes the conversion look very original.
Certainly looks the best setup Paul, that NAS console etc is a fantastic addition. If only I could find someone here willing to spend the $$$, I'd love to do a neat conversion like thatCompushift is a great piece of kit, when I was rethinking the auto to 4BD1T for mine, I was heading towards 4HP24EH from a P38a and a compushift, but decided to stick with the LT95 manual. Call me conservative but thats the way I wanted to go with the touring rig
