    Vibration

I have a vibration in the car that is steadly getting worse, it starts at around 65 to70kph and is at it's worst at 90kph.

Now while driving along, if I turn the wheell left it gets worse, but if I turn right it stops, now just turning the wheel without going around a corner stops it, so to me it seems steering related, can anyone give me some clues as to where to look or what could be the cause.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

My guess is a tie rod end that has worn. I have had one that only show'd movement at a certain angle and the only way I could find it was to place the car the ground and get a mate to turn the steering wheel with the motor running. Only happened under load as with the weight off the front end on a hoise there was no movement at all.

take it your shocks weren't loose then baz......did you check your steering box and power steering pump?

but i might be thinking tie rods perhaps one of them is seizing, do they have grease nipples on them? mine don't but some do.

Yeah everything was pretty well tight enough, I don't think it's the steering box because of the fact it goes away if I turn the steering wheel right it goes away and the fact I checked that first

I am thinking it could also be an engine mount, I was told it could be on the way out.

Try looking for play in the UJs on the front prop shaft. 90ks is a common speed for this to appear and about 110ks if the rear ones are worn.

spot on i reckon ,aswell check your rubber ring on the tail shaft just before it connects to the rear diff, if it is torn or distorted severe vibration does occur .when turning the disco, it puts preesure on the rubber ring which will mean the vibration can go away
