That's a bit ordinary for sure.I go crazy if that happens to me here as so much freight and time is involved
That could have left you stranded somewhere remote as well

ok guys , Not really sure if anyone else's had issues with this Ejector pump Part #: PCH-840 for 300tdi motor. It seems that the part leaks coolant thru the seams of the valve body.
the part pictured below is a brand new one purchased from a "reputable part" supplier.
Coolant has been slow leaking on top of the steering boxbut it gets slightly worse when there is more pressure with the Water Pump pushing coolant thru the hoses , that pic is only when the engine is off.
I really don't have the time and energy to write up a 3 page essay about my day driving out there and putting in a warranty claim.may be I should point out that the ejector pump wasn't the only faulty part I had , take a look at this ...............
Part No:ARN 3823
Power Steering Hose from reseviour to steering Box
it has ballooned out and torn the hose out from inside where it's the crimped together . part has only done less that 10k. unfortunely I couldn't put in a warranty claim in because the part was purchased over 12month ago . policy is 20k or 12 month which ever comes first.![]()

yeah mate , pretty ordinary, It's fine when this happends and you happen to be in city metro as most these places are withing arms reach so to speak , but different story if you're somewhere relatively remote such as "Coolah" where there are no dealers or parts suppliers around for hundreds or even thousands of k's

The salesman wanted the old parts back before issuing the new part even thou I showed him picture proof of the leak on my digital camera after he tracked down the Invoice for the purchased so called part , I said soon as I take the old one out and install the new one I will express post the "faulty part" back to them and they can do whatever they want with it.
In that case we'll have to put in a Temporary charge on your credit card till we recieve the old one back "say" the SalesMan.
Nope , thanks , but I would not be paying for another ejector pumpas they had already rejected the claim for the power steering hose . grabbed the new one and left.
yes, they're cheap and I definitely will be carrying spares for sure if I was planning a big trip outback , However I would be more inclined to do away with this cheap plastic ejectror pumps alltogether for reliability sake , I read a post on here a while ago that someone actually replaced theirs with some sort of Brass fitting . I'll see if I can find the post.
wtf is an ejector pump?
Frank , I believe there is a valve inside the Ejector Pump , someone like dave blknight or JC can confirm this , I haven't pulled one apart myself yet so I can't say . but seeing your T-piece is doing an adequate job I might throw one in myself. or at least carry one in the car .
