    Unhappy rear axle on D1 tdi

    My mate broke his rear axle on his Disco tdi the other day whilst we were playing at Dixons Long Point.
    He was just telling me that its split and he cant get it out so he can get the diff exchanged(buggered that as well)
    Any ideas on how to get it out...

    Can he get the other side out and get something in from that side to punch it out??. If it won't move then it is prob twisted and i can't help there but someone will know. Cheers Brett

    I suggested to him about the other side,but he said its connected to the pinion and he didnt want to pull that out.

    Thanks for the suggestion anyway...

    I'm sure someone will pipe up soon..

    Just heard from my mate...

    After 2 and a bit hrs,he managed to get the broken piece out and then he put in the bought 1.

    He went for a quick drive and it seems to be OK..
    He'll check for leaks in the morning..
