it will be I bet I had the same thing I believe the dsico unis are smaller than the rangie ones....
as I put a rear rangie prop on....I had the same problem when I bought a full set of unis for the disco
Hi all
Latest drama, got the fron propshaft uni's replaced and then noticed the rear propshaft uni (next to the diff) is shagged, thought no worries i'll get a new one and have a go myself.
All's well until I start pressing in the new one and find that the caps aren't long enough to sit flush up against the circlips in the yokes..........
My Disco has one of the replacement rear propshafts that has gotten rid of the rubber coupling, so my guess is that it's not a standard uni joint (good guess sherlock...).
What to do now??
Just arrived: 2012 D4 3.0 HSE, the journey begins again ;-).
Gone: 98 Disco 300tdi Auto, and some extras

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Not a big problem - there have been a couple of changes in uni size between RR / Disco propshafts over the years, you've got an earlier propshaft from somewhere. Keep the excess uni's for the future, and you'll be able to get the same size uni's with a longer cap from the same place you got the first set.
The larger uni ( as mentioned by DB ) is a type used on defenders and early RR
I found what I was looking for - this should explain a lot (with pics)
