Thread: Goodyear duratrac tyres

Hi Ben,
I'd like to say that they are awesome and go well........Mainly because i got a set on order as i type. i know that's probably not helpful, but if it's any consolation, the best price i could get for em was 295 a corner.

I've got 285/75/16's mtr's on my fender.Marked Goodyear "durawall" so not sure if we are talking about the same thing?
If we are I recommend them.
Did a trip in April this year from Busselton(s/west WA)to Mount Augustus(biggest rock in the world apparently...).
Roads wern't challenging for a 4wd but they were a real test for tyres, hard shale/rock, real sharp edged stuff, far worse than the Gibb River road which I have done dozens of times(used to live there).
I was waiting for a puncture or sidewall issue, it never came.
The mtr's are noisy but I love em, worth the money imho.

As l am in the market for replacement tyres for 1993 Range Rover in the next couple months yes l would like the bias opinion of a tyre fitter on that tyre and any other tyre like in the AT or even slightly more aggressive tyre as to on road performance in dry and wet, off road in sloppy mud and beach sand driving

The MTR are a good tyre,the duratrac is the more highway style as far as I know.
The MTR ISNT A MUD TYRE as many think,it is an all-terrain but more off-road biased.In the 235/85 size I have the tread blocks are closer than the wider sizes.They perform well in all situations so far,especially in sand.Done 20000k+ and still have more than 75% tread left.
I thing you will find quite a few members are using the MTRs.

I had the MTRs on my old MU and got approx 75-80k out of them.
I highly rate them as an all-rounder tyre. Do get a bit noisey towards the end but what aggressive tyre doesn't? I have also put them on the Rangie. As soon as I'm driving that to work, I'll be able to compare and provide feedback (but don't hold your breath!).

I've had Goodyear Duratrac's on my 110 Extreme for 3mths and done around 6000K including some mud, soft beach and granite outcrops. So far all good. Surprisingly low or no noise on bitumen. No chips off lugs / walls - as yet. I'm hoping they'll get me around OZ next year and handle the many varied terrains [mud, rock, sand, snow] towing an offroad camptrailer. I wanted a tyre pattern heavier than AT's with more lug-like tread for mud having found Cooper ST's weren't always up to it in mud. I paid $290each tyre. Hope this helps. cheers,

they are a good tyre but make sure you run the right pressures or they eat them selves from inside out (they seem to over heat easy) for that reson i prefer the brigstones but they have a tendacy to tare side walls if run at to higher pressure

also if dooing your own trackside tyre repare on this uing paches put some glue on heat it till it drys the add more glue then pach (due to the sillica in the tyres)
