Thread: Adjusting TD5 injectors

    The injectors are out now and i cant find cracks in the rall.
    I also did a check yesterday with the ignition on for a few hours. In my theory the level should raise then also when there is a crack in the head.
    No change in the level during this test.

    This is giving me a bit more confidence that an injector is leaking

    I am guessing here that you left the ignition on to keep pressure to the injector.

    I am not up to speed yet on EFI diesels as I don't yet own one but I would assume it is similar to a petrol EFI (As far as fuel delivery is concerned)

    On an EFI petrol, when the ignition is turned on the fuel pump only operates for a few seconds until the engine starts. If the engine is not started the fuel pump shuts down.

    Now I don't know if diesels do this but would be worth checking before relying on the results of your test.

    Hmm. There you have a point.
    The pump shuts down after a short while but i thought it was because the max presure level was reached.

    Well, I will first have my injectors checked at a specialist. There after i will see further.

    It can be hard to see but i don't see cracks in the injector holes.
